Work involved the excavation and movement of approximately 4,000,000 cubic yards of glacial till and 1,400,000 tons of tunnel muck. By the conclusion of the porject, Cashman Equipment had removed approximately 2,000,000 cubic yards of glacial till from Deer Island, with most of that material being used as capping material for landfills.
