The project consisted of demolishing and disposing of the Old Jamestown Bridge between the towns of North Kingstown and Jamestown in Rhode Island. The demolition portion of this contract was approximately 5,332 feet of bridge spanning the West Passage of Narragansett Bay and included the removal and disposal of 6,000 tons of steel and 38,000 cubic yards of concrete.
Also included in this contract was the construction of three artificial reefs using select bridge materials located between two and ten nautical miles of the shoreline of Rhode Island. The contract also consists of installing an Intelligent Transportation System Closed Circuit Video Equipment and Portable Variable Message Signs.
